As a nonprofit consulting and philanthropic advisory firm, Detroit Philanthropy is dedicated to strengthening the philanthropic ecosystem throughout metro Detroit. We believe that when funders, corporate partners, and nonprofits connect, entire communities thrive.
In 2020, that belief inspired the creation of Community Connections: Detroit Philanthropy’s Education and Networking Series — an initiative designed to bring together nonprofit professionals, funders, and community leaders. Today, Community Connections stands as one of metro Detroit’s most trusted convenings for nonprofit executives, foundation leaders, and corporate partners to engage in meaningful dialogue, share insights, and build lasting relationships.

Over the past five years, more than 1,500 individuals representing nearly 700 organizations have participated in Community Connections events, which reflects the growing enthusiasm for meaningful dialogue and collaboration across the philanthropic sector.
Each event features a diverse mix of voices from across the philanthropic ecosystem. This intentionality creates dynamic discussions that strengthen relationships, spark collaboration, and build lasting capacity.
