As a nonprofit consulting and philanthropic advisory firm, Detroit Philanthropy is dedicated to strengthening the philanthropic ecosystem throughout metro Detroit. We believe that when funders, corporate partners, and nonprofits connect, entire communities thrive.
In 2020, that belief inspired the creation of Community Connections: Detroit Philanthropy’s Education and Networking Series — an initiative designed to bring together nonprofit professionals, funders, and community leaders.
Today, Community Connections stands as one of metro Detroit’s most trusted convenings for nonprofit executives, foundation leaders, and corporate partners to engage in meaningful dialogue, share insights, and build lasting relationships.
What’s in Store for 2026
3 Community Conversations, in-person panel discussions with philanthropic leaders held over morning coffee in
February, April and November.1 Signature Event, a luncheon including a panel discussion, keynote speaker, and amply time for networking.
Planned for September 2026.1 Special Policy Conversation, a nonprofit reception and policy conversation held in May during the Mackinac Policy Conference bringing together nonprofit CEOs, funders, and community leaders for a nonpartisan dialogue on policy and advocacy.
1 Industry Networking Event, a happy hour gathering in the summer allowing attendees an opportunity to make
new contacts and spend time with industry leaders.
All events are designed to help those in the nonprofit sector gain valuable insights and connections.
With over 1,500 participants representing nearly 700 nonprofits, businesses, and foundations having attended since our inception in 2020, this series is a unique opportunity to connect to those impacting our community.
